FREE timer switches are being offered to residents after a spate of burglaries in Porchester, Bakersfield and Burton Joyce.
The devices switch TVs, radios and lamps on at intervals, giving the impression someone is home.
Police Inspector Andy Berryman is giving them out and warning residents to cancel milk and newspaper deliveries when on holiday.
