Nottingham Panthers defenceman Sam Oakford has joined English Premier League side Swindon Wildcats on a short-term deal.
Oakford's move to Swindon saw teenage forward Ollie Betteridge spend the weekend with Nottingham.
He has spent most of the season with the Wildcats under his two-way deal.
With both teams struggling with injuries, Oakford says the transfer benefits both clubs.
"Ollie plays for us and does well and we needed forwards and Swindon needed D so it has worked out quite nicely," he told the Swindon Advertiser.
"I believe it is just for this weekend to get me back into shape but if it happens again and it is able to with contracts then, yeah, cool. I am happy to do that."
It appears likely Oakford's and Betteridge's situation will be reassessed next week.
