Dorus de Vries: The keeper made an outstanding save to deny Jamie Ward, swatting the Derby man's shot over the bar when it seemed destined for the net. Generally looked calm and composed when he needed to be. Rating: 7/10

Todd Kane: The defender may not have played in a game with such an intense atmosphere before, but he rarely look to be intimidated by it. A good addition at right-back. Rating: 7/10

Jack Hobbs: The Forest skipper looks a little more assured with every game he plays, following his long lay-off with an ankle injury. Organised the Forest back line well, even if he did have one or two moments where his rustiness shone through. Made some good, old fashioned challenges at good times. Rating: 8/10

Kelvin Wilson: Made an outstanding block in the first half, when Craig Bryson seemed certain to score. Battled hard with Chris Martin and was unlucky to be booked following a wrestling match with the striker in which both men were pulling each other back. Rating: 8/10

Eric Lichaj: Occasionally looked uncomfortable when asked to use his left foot, but this was generally a solid display from Lichaj, against a tough opponent in Johnny Russell. Did well to recover after being hit in a delicate area by a shot. Rating: 8/10

Michail Antonio: The winger was tightly shackled by Derby and found his openings limited but, by the time he was taken off he had run himself into the ground. An honest performance that was ended by a rib injury. Rating: 7/10

Gary Gardner: The midfielder looks to be a good addition on loan. His manager described him as 'assured' and that was the perfect word. Played with commitment – as demonstrated by his first half booking – but also always looked calm on the ball. Rating: 7/10

Robert Tesche: The German started the game in an advanced position and did have one or two decent touches, but it took him a while to find his feet in the game. Was more of an influence in the second half, when his dynamism shone through. Played an important role in the winning goal. Rating: 7/10

Ben Osborn: The young midfielder has been one of few players to emerge with credit in recent weeks and he stood out again at the iPro, capping off an energetic, busy display down the Forest left with a goal that will earn him hero status with the Reds fans. Rating: 9/10

Henri Lansbury: The former Arsenal man could do little about the own goal, but he did give the ball away a couple of times afterwards, with his confidence perhaps dented. Never stopped working or tried to hide. Rating: 7/10

Britt Assombalonga: The striker played with a smile on his face, even when a few odd decisions were going against him. His smile got even bigger when he prodded Forest level in the 75th minute for his second goal against Derby this season. His work rate is immense. Rating: 8/10

Subs

Stephen McLaughlin (for Antonio, 81): The winger had a few decent touches after coming on. Added fresh legs at an important time. Rating: 6/10

Jamaal Lascelles (for Tesche, 94): His best moment came after the final whistle, when he rugby tackled a pitch invader to the ground. Rating: 6/10
