Police patrols will be increased after reports of a planned car cruise.
There will be more officers in Jubilee Way South, Mansfield, on Sunday night.
Those planning to take part in the cruise have been told car parks in the area are private property and should not be used for this purpose.
Inspector Sam Wilson said: "We would encourage those people to change their minds about turning up at the car park tonight, we will be present to enforce antisocial behaviour laws."
On Saturday the Post revealed that Nottinghamshire County Council has got an injunction against large gatherings of cars at Victoria and Chilwell Retail Parks as well as a third area near junction 27 of the M1.
The move came after businesses complained about people meeting up with their cars late at night.
Alice Grice, of Nottinghamshire County Council's community safety committee, said: "People who behave and drive recklessly in these locations in the future should be left in no doubt that they face the genuine possibility of prison sentence if they continue to behave in a way which is dangerous, intimidating and distressing."
