A BODY recovered from a river is believed to be that of a missing racehorse trainer, police have said.
Newark woman Cindy Beadling-Brennan had appealed for information after the disappearance of her father Owen Brennan on December 17.
At the time she said going missing without contacting any of his family was "totally out of character" for her father, whose 78th birthday would have been on New Year's Day.
Police said the body of a man found in the River Derwent in Derby yesterday was thought to be that of the 77-year-old, from Derby.
Officers were called to Darley Park by a member of the public at around 12.10pm.
Police do not believe there to be any suspicious circumstances.
