A thief who had a preference for stealing sandwiches with chicken tikka filling has been banned from a Nottingham convenience store. Alistair Brown, 29, of Eugene Gardens, The Meadows, became known to staff at the Spar on Upper Parliament Street as 'chicken tikka man' because of his penchant for stealing or trying to steal sandwiches with the curry-flavour filling, as well as other items of food and drink. He was also convicted of stealing computer equipment from a computer game store on Angel Row. He was convicted of four shoplifting offences at Nottingham Magistrates' Court, and issued with a 12 month conditional discharge. No further action will be taken against Brown in the next 12 months unless he commits further offences Brown was also ordered to pay £76.60 in fines and costs. He is now banned from entering the Spar store and Angel Row for the next two years under a Criminal Anti Social Behaviour Order (Crasbo). Brown had also become a regular visitor to the Nottingham Central Library and the City Council's Housing and Benefits contact point, both on Angel Row, where he verbally abused staff and visitors - but his Crasbo will prevent him from entering this building too. Cllr Norris, portfolio holder for community safety said: "It was felt necessary to apply for such a Court Order to offer protection to staff and service users of the Central Library and contact point and also staff and customers of the Spar store from Brown's offending and abusive behaviour.
