Bulwell: Two men have been arrested after cannabis was found at a house. Police raided the address in Downing Gardens on Tuesday. and seized the drug. The two men were bailed pending further inquiries.
West Bridgford: Witnesses are needed after an attempted break-in in Boxley Drive. Police are urging residents to be on their guard after the offence, which happened at about 7.35pm on Thursday. Anyone with information should call police on 101.
Ripley: Part of the Cromford Canal has been designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument. English Heritage has granted the status to a 700ft stretch of the canal tunnel beneath the former Butterley Works. The move secures the future of the site as it is now on a protected list. The system dates back to the construction of the canal in 1790, when a 180ft length of tunnel was built double width so that two 70ft boats could be pulled to one side at the underground wharf and not stop other traffic through the tunnel. Such a system does not exist anywhere else in the world.

Fir Tree Cottage Bed and Breakfast went head to head with businesses across the county for the title in a competition run by business directory Bestof. Consumers were asked to review their favourite businesses, with tens of thousands of reviews received.
