Family of cancer-stricken teen raise funds for Nottingham cancer unit

THE family of a 17-year-old who is hospitalised with cancer are appealing for people to sponsor their fund raising efforts. Kieran Douglas of Hemshall Vale, Bulwell, was diagnosed in November of last year. The family have already raised around £2,000 through sponsorship events and are continuing to raise money for the Queens Medical Centre's E39 ward. Kieran's uncle, Matthew Alcock ran in the Rushcliffe 10km race this Sunday March 3 donations are still being accepted. Kieran, who is a Stoke City fan, was visited by a number of the players at the Queens Medical Centre on Saturday, February 9. Kieran's Grandad, Ivan Allcock said: "You can't fault the cancer unit. They've been absolutely brilliant. They work day and night, any money raised will be gratefully accepted." To donate money e-mail ih.alcock@sky.co.uk to arrange sponsorship.
