CONTROVERSIAL plans for 116 homes on greenbelt land in Nuthall have been turned down.
Leicestershire-based developers Langham Park had hoped to build the properties in Low Wood Road, by the A610 roundabout.
However, the plans were rejected at a planning committee meeting at Broxtowe Borough Council last night.
Nottingham North MP Graham Allen previously said he was against the development.
He said: "It's a little oasis, people love it, they walk their dogs there. There's one of the oldest houses in Nottingham there – Hempshill Hall.
"It would be totally inappropriate to build houses all the way around this beautiful old hall."
The Low Wood Road development would have had 35 three-bedroom homes and 104 four-bedroom houses.
