THE EYES of the world were on Nottingham for the past eight weeks as the harrowing details of the Philpotts trial were aired in public.
And yesterday people crowded at Nottingham Crown Court to hear what sentences Mick Philpott, his wife, Mairead, and their friend Paul Mosley received for killing six children in a fire they started in a Derby house. Sentencing Mick Philpott to life , Mrs Justice Thirlwall said he was "a disturbingly dangerous man with no moral compass".
The father-of-17 smiled and stuck up two fingers as cries of "Die, Mick, die" rang out in court.
