THE UK arm of a global wallpaper company is relocating its sales force to Nottinghamshire as part of a business restructure. GranDeco UK – part of GranDeco Group – has taken on a 2,000 sq ft unit at Eastwood Link Office Park in a deal done by NG Chartered Surveyors, acting on behalf of William Davis Properties.
A growing company with headquarters in Tielt, Belgium, GranDeco Group is a wallpaper designer and producer that sells products to top retailers in more than 80 countries.
GranDeco UK is shifting its focus from distribution to pure sales and has set up a base for its growing sales team at Eastwood Link, where it plans to open a new showroom.
Sunny Landa, of NG Chartered Surveyors, said: "The estate is in a great location and GranDeco UK's new showroom will provide easy access for its salespeople, who are spread across the country, and clients.
"The Eastwood Link estate has excellent access to the M1 and is close to East Midlands Airport, which is important for an international company. It is also within easy reach of Nottingham and Derby – the two main economic hubs in the East Midlands."
The move comes as part of GranDeco Group's efforts to restructure its business operations.
Helen Didcock, manager of GranDeco UK's new Nottingham office, said: "It made good business sense to cut our UK distribution service and focus purely on sales. It will be much more efficient for the wider GranDeco Group to handle all distribution from Belgium, cutting out the extra tier.
"We have an excellent sales team and the location of the new property provides an excellent base for travelling salespeople. It is easy to get to from practically anywhere in the country.
"As a company, our objective is to expand even more and confirm our reputation as one of the leading market players in wall coverings. We are confident that our UK sales team will help GranDeco Group achieve its ambitious growth plans."
NG is joint agent on the Eastwood Link Office Park with Savills.
Paul Giles, of Savills, said: "Nottingham is the perfect location for companies who operate across the country and Eastwood Link has been popular with sales, distribution and haulage companies.
"I recently sold a unit there to the National Pest Technicians' Association, which attracts lots of visitors from its members and associates and relocated its offices to Eastwood Link because of the easy access to the M1."
With more deals in the pipeline, NG and Savills are hoping that their success on the estate will continue into the spring.
Eastwood Link Office Park is owned by William Davis Properties and is one of the company's many speculative office developments.
