AN online fund set up to send a dying woman to Center Parcs with her family raised more than £1,000 in 24 hours.

One of Debra Sanders' final wishes is to spend a week with her family in the luxury Treehouse accommodation at the Sherwood Forest site.

After hearing of Debra's plight, former school friend Carol Cooper decided to try to raise £2,000 towards the cost.

The appeal went live on Thursday evening and by 4pm yesterday had reached £1,055 through 74 donations.

Ms Cooper, 40, of Aspley, said: "We don't know how long Debra has left, so we hope to get the target as soon as possible."

Debra, who has ovarian cancer, has surprised medics by surviving so long after being given just weeks to live last summer.

She drew up a 'bucket list' of things she wanted to do before she died.

One of those was ticked off on Easter Monday when she was joined by dozens of family and friends doing the Harlem Shake – the latest dance phenomenon – in fancy dress outside her Aspley home.

Another is for the Center Parcs trip with her husband Jason and children Leah, 21, and Pearce, 14.
