A WORKER has been given a suspended prison sentence for stealing the herbal spirit, Jägermeister, from his employer.
Alan Kirkman, 51, of Old Coppice Side, Heanor, admitted the theft of a number of boxes from Greene King Brewery, Eastwood, on October 4 last year.
Magistrates in Nottingham gave him a prison sentence of 90 days, suspended for 12 months, because the offence was serious.
The court heard the theft was from his employer, he was already subject to a community order and had previous convictions for theft from an employer.
Kirkman will now be supervised by the probation service for 12 months.
He must do 180 hours of unpaid work in that time.
He has to pay £500 compensation, a victim surcharge of £80 and costs of £300.
