NOTTS County ended the season with a 2-2 draw against Coventry City in League One at Meadow Lane today. Tyrell Waite fired the Magpies 1-0 ahead with his first goal for the club in the first half and Krystian Pearce put them 2-1 in front in the second half with his first goal of the season, after John Fleck had equalised for the visitors. But Coventry sub Franck Moussa denied Notts a third straight win with a late leveller. Notts were boosted by the return of their No.1 goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski to face the Sky Blues. They were otherwise unchanged from their 1-0 win at Doncaster Rovers, with match-winner Joss Labadie joining Jeff Hughes, Jamal Campbell-Ryce and Alan Judge in midfield. Yoann Arquin and Waite started in attack and Gary Liddle, Dean Leacock, Pearce and Alan Sheehan were named in defence. Bialkowski was tested twice in the opening stages of the game, parrying away a powerful 20-yard strike from Coventry striker Callum Wilson after less than a minute and then a free-kick from the edge of the penalty area from the visitors' leading-scorer Carl Baker on six minutes. Notts hit back quickly and Campbell-Ryce swung a dangerous cross into the box from the right wing on 12 minutes that Waite won at the far post, but the visitors hacked the ball clear before Judge could pounce on it. It went quiet after those early chances and the Magpies did not threaten again until Sheehan tried his luck from 25 yards on 22 minutes, unleashing a venomous shot that was blocked. Wilson then fired wide of Bialkowski's left-hand post from long-range on 27 minutes. Waite was looking a big threat for Notts and he did brilliantly to win the ball close to the penalty area on 30 minutes and cut it back towards Campbell-Ryce, but ref David Webb got in his way as he tried to seize onto it for a shot. The Magpies soon broke the deadlock though as Waite pounced from close-range with a good header on 34 minutes, after Coventry goalkeeper Chris Dunn had parried a superb shot from Sheehan. Leacock then went close to doubling their lead, but Dunn saved his effort from eight yards, and minutes later Pearce headed narrowly over the crossbar as Notts finished the first half strongly. Waite did not re-emerge for the second half and was replaced by Andre Boucaud as Notts switched to a 4-5-1 formation. Coventry were quickly on the attack and David Bell curled a shot against the crossbar from the edge of the penalty area on 49 minutes. The visitors then equalised just two minutes later, Fleck smashing a shot past Bialkowski from inside the box. The Magpies were soon back in front though as Pearce struck from close range on 54 minutes, after Hughes had hit the post with a good header. Notts looked comfortable for a long time after restoring their lead, but it took a good save from Bialkowski to deny Bell on 73 minutes, after he struck another fierce shot at goal. Moussa then rifled a shot just wide of Bialkowski's right-hand post on 83 minutes. The Magpies came under increasing pressure in the closing stages and it finally told as Moussa beat Bialkowski on 86 minutes to make it 2-2.
