ALAN Judge has finally confirmed he will leave Notts County this summer.
But the 24-year-old midfielder says he would love to return to the club in the future.
"This might not be the end," he said. "I'd always love to come back and play here again. I just want a new challenge."
Judge looks set to sign for a new team on a Bosman free transfer within the next couple of weeks, with several clubs chasing him.
He will not be moving across the Trent to arch-rivals Forest, but the Irishman has not ruled out a return to Blackburn, the club Notts signed him from almost three years ago.
"There will be no chance of that (Forest)," he added. "I've got quite a few offers so I'm lucky. Hopefully I'll know where I'm going in the next week or two."
Judge played 101 league games for the Magpies, but turned down a new deal at Meadow Lane.
"That was my last game," he said, after their final-day 2-2 home draw against Coventry.
"I've had a great three years here. This club has made me the player I am and I'll never forget that.
"It was the best move I could have made because it wasn't working out for me at Blackburn at the time.
"I've been so happy here.
"There will be one or two fans who think I'm leaving just because of the money, but I'm ambitious like most players are and I want to progress."
Judge says his best moment for Notts was his injury-time winner at Wycombe last season that kept their play-off hopes alive.
"I've got so many good moments here, like winning the Player of the Year awards and that goal against Wycombe will always stand out," he said.
"Just to go out and play for this club every week has been great, with the fans behind me."
