A DISABLED schoolboy has been given free tickets to a one-day international cricket match, thanks to Notts and England star Graeme Swann. Lewis Herbert, ten, will attend the clash between England and New Zealand at Trent Bridge on June 5 with his mum Lexi and dad Gary. Lewis, of Northampton, suffers from a life-threatening condition which means he is confined to a specialist wheelchair, which was provided to him by a children's charity. Having Lennox Gastaut Syndrome causes him to have hundreds of different seizures every day. One of his biggest passions is cricket, and he has never before seen England play in an international. Last week, the family were given a tour of the ground by Trent Bridge ticket office manager Nigel Murray. Mr Herbert had played at junior cricket levels with Mr Swann and approached him about the chance of Lewis watching a match. Mr Swann then had a word with Notts County Cricket Club chief executive Lisa Pursehouse, who arranged for the tickets. Mr Herbert said: "Lewis will absolutely love this day out at his first live England cricket game, and he will especially love it as it is going to be played under floodlights. "We just really want to give Graeme Swann and Notts CCC some recognition for doing this amazing thing for Lewis and us. "They are providing us with an opportunity to do something with Lewis which we have always wanted to do, but never thought practical or possible. "Things like this make a massive difference to Lewis and our lives, we are extremely grateful to be able to have this opportunity with him. "The only time that Lexi and I are normally on our own with Lewis is in a hospital ward, so this will make a very pleasant change."
