Two men were taken to hospital after a double-decker bus collided with a car on Mansfield Road yesterday afternoon.
The crash, shortly after 1pm, has left the driver of a Fiat Cinquecento in Queen's Medical Centre with serious injuries after the roof of the vehicle was removed to lift passengers out.
A baby reported to be in the back seat of the car was thankfully unharmed.
Nottingham City Transport's bus driver is also at the QMD in a serious condition.
Two passengers in the car suffered minor injuries, and no one else was hurt.
Dev Bana, owner of Dev's Barbers, said: "I heard it crash, it sounded like a train coming to a halt.
"After I rushed out, the driver had a bloody nose - he was not very well."
The road was closed heading out of the city between Woodborough Road and Forest Road while police conducted their enquiries.
The road remained open heading into central Nottingham.
