FOREST fans vented their disappointment after the Reds narrowly missed out on a place in the Championship play-offs when they lost 3-2 in a nail-biting last game of the season on Saturday.
As despondent spectators left the City Ground, fans turned to the Post to give their views on the match.
Steve Walton, 60, of Bilborough said: "We started well, but then Leicester took the game off us.
"We made them look better than they were. I didn't expect us to make it through, to be honest."
Another fan, Dan Churcher, 38, of Sneinton, said: "It's sad, but we can hold our heads up high after what has been a start-stop season.
"I have no doubt Billy Davies will take us up next season.
"In the end Leicester's winner was irrelevant because Bolton were held to a draw against Blackpool."
And Michael Kirby, 70, of Newthorpe, who has been a fan since 1950, said: "Of course I'm disappointed – I think we committed suicide with the last goal.
"But it was an exciting match."
Leicester City's Anthony Knockaert scored the winner in the dying moments of the game to keep The Foxes' promotion hopes alive. Billy Davies' side finished the season in the eighth place, only a point outside of the play-off places.
Following the final whistle Notts Police attended a dispute on Pavilion Road near the City Ground.
The force arrested a woman and two men on suspicion of assault.
In a separate incident police arrested a man on suspicion of assault and two more men on suspicion of breach of the peace.
All six people are believed to be Forest fans.
Superintendent Mark Holland said: "Thank you to the vast majority of fans for their good behaviour."
