A SHOPLIFTER who stole deodorant has been jailed for six months.
Shirley Storey, 31, was charged with theft on Tuesday, May 28 after being arrested for stealing 12 cans of deodorant from Wilkinson's, in Outram Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield.
Storey, also of Outram Street, had taken 36 cans of deodorant from the same shop on Monday, May 20.
She appeared before Mansfield Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, May 29, and was sentenced to 24 weeks in prison.
Inspector Andy Clarke, who covers Ashfield North, said: "Storey was arrested under our ongoing operation to crack down on retail crime in Mansfield and Ashfield.
"She was a persistent thief, repeatedly targeting the same shop, disrupting their business.
"I hope this sentence sends out the message that we will continue to pursue shoplifters and repeat offenders until they are brought to justice."
