World experts talk plastic surgery in Nottingham

EXPERTS in plastic surgery from around the globe descended in Nottingham today for the start of a three-day conference to discuss the latest techniques in practice. The British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS) today starts its annual summer meeting in Nottingham, to discuss UK and international plastic surgery innovation. The meeting, is being held in the East Midlands Conference Centre and will finish on Friday June 21. Plastic surgeons from across the world, including Russia, China, Germany, Chile, Georgia, Pakistan and Australia have flown to the city to attend the lectures. The event is being hosted by president Graeme Perks who works as a consultant plastic surgeon and is head of the plastic, reconstructive and burns surgery department at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. He said: "This meeting will gather international plastic surgery experts to celebrate new developments in both reconstructive and aesthetic surgery, and importantly share lessons and initiatives to further transform the lives of patients in the UK and across the world. "For the first time we welcome Presidents of plastic surgery associations from Germany, Pakistan and Georgia, alongside other international colleagues, who are leading experts in their fields. It is an honour to host the event here in the Midlands."
