A man has been arrested in connection with a sexual assault on a woman in West Bridgford at the weekend.
The 19-year-old Nottingham man is currently in police custody after the incident on Sunday and will be interviewed by police today.
He was arrested on suspicion of carrying out a sexual assault on a 31-year-old woman in Rutland Road just after 3am.
She was found with facial injuries and taken to Nottingham's Queen's Medical Centre for treatment and was later discharged.
Neither the victim or the suspect have links to the Rutland Road area.
A cordon was in place for much of the day on Sunday while police carried out extensive enquiries at the scene. Officers have also been reviewing CCTV footage
and carrying out house-to-house enquiries.
