LIVE: Notts PCC hopefuls to face public at hustings tonight

THE four people hoping to become the first police and crime commissioner for Notts will face each other in a public debate tonight. You can join in the debate here from 5.30pm by following the live blog. Tweet us using #nottspcc with your thoughts. The candidates for the November 15 election will meet at a hustings at Nottingham Trent University's Newton Building. Labour's Paddy Tipping, Conservative Tony Roberts and independents Malcolm Spencer and Dr Raj Chandran will take questions from the public during the two-hour event. Commissioners are being brought in across England and Wales to replace police authorities. They will set police budgets and determine crime-fighting priorities. Anyone can attend tonight's event, which is being chaired by the Nottingham Post, but people are asked to book first by visiting www.ntu.ac.uk, calling 0115 848 8732, or e-mailing bls.marketing@ntu.ac.uk.
