We've been paying close attention to what the great and good of Nottingham have been tweeting this week...so look no further to catch up with your local celebrities!
GUITAR band Lawson have been on a TV and radio promotional tour of the UK this week, trying to get their new single, Brokenhearted, to the top of the chart. By mid-week it was in the Top 5 but in Thailand it had shot to the top of their chart without any in-store appearances, radio interviews or TV spots. Maybe this nude photo of the band (taken on a Cosmopolitan magazine photo shoot), including Ravenshead's Joel Peat, aka @LawsonJoel, was enough to get their fans over there buying the single.
ANOTHER Notts musician in a successful group is Victoria Gray - @VicGrayMezzo - of Amore, who's been at the House of Commons this week for an event organised by @DigitalRadioUK. The girl from Bilsthorpe, second right, has already performed for the Queen and at this year's FA Cup Final at Wembley.
ALSO meeting the stars this week was Bramcote's 18-year-old singer songwriter Callum Burrows, aka Saint Raymond, who tweeted this photo of himself with actress Gemma Arterton.
THEATRE Royal panto star @DavidHasselhoff is a prolific tweeter and has teased those going to see him in Peter Pan this Christmas with a photo of him as Captain Hook. His starring role alongside Su Pollard has already shifted more than a third of the total 60,000 tickets. Other tweets from The Hoff included him on board his own jet, with a Hoff doll and signing the leg of a bloke at London's Film and Comic Convention who plans to have it tattooed over.
WHEN you are one of the world's most successful fashion designers and you go to see the Rolling Stones at Hyde Park, you get front row seats, as this photo posted by Sir Paul Smith (@PaulSmithDesign) shows.
MANY celebs and local sports stars waded in to congratulate Wimbledon winner Andy Murray, who was obviously trending on Sunday following his historic win. David Hasselhoff said: "Congrats Andy Murray. I followed him for years. HE NEVER GAVE UP! SUCCESS & DEDICATION PREVAILED! A TRUE SCOT! HE HAS MADE ALL OF THE UK PROUD." One assumes he needed the capitalisation to indicate JUST HOW EXCITED HE WAS! Comedian Miranda Hart (@mermhart), who'll be at the Capital FM Arena for four shows next March, said she was "Still reeling. Thanks @andy_murray for making my/our summer. Wowzers!" Notts golfer Lee Westwood (@WestwoodLee) said: "Well done Andy Murray. Caught the last game which seemed to take an eternity!" "Twitter is going crazy but thought be rude not to add to it... amazing @andy_murray, incredible final!" tweeted Mansfield's Olympic medallist @BeckAdlington. Before their own duties at The Ashes at Trent Bridge, Notts and England cricketers Stuart Broad and Graeme Swann were watching. "Wow, I didn't realise a British man hadn't won Wimbledon for 77 years!" said @StuartBroad8.
CHRISTOPHER Dean (who tweets with Jayne Torvill through @torvillanddean) may have been living in Colorado for years but his heart remains in his home city. He posted this pic of the screensaver on his phone showing the sign on the Nottingham street next to the National Ice Centre named in his honour following Torvill and Dean's Olympic gold in 1984. He said: "iPhone screen saver. Nottingham boy."
TWEET OF THE WEEK Was a LITTLE bit tipsy last night & lost ALL my birthday presents. Went to my corner shop today and they had them! Now that is customer service." Beeston's Radio 1 presenter @Alicelevine
