NOTTINGHAM Forest may have to shell out 3m euros if they want to land Olympiakos winger Djamel Abdoun.
Reports in Greece suggest the Reds have upped their offer for the 27-year-old Algerian to 2m euros.
But they may now face unexpected opposition from Al-Gharafa, a Qatar-based club, who are willing to offer 3m euros for the player.
Abdoun is keen on a move away from the Greek club, with Southampton and Fulham also believed to be interested.
And previously it had only been Forest who had made a concrete bid for the player, who is an international team-mate of Adlene Guedioura.
Now Abdoun, who has previously played for Sedan and Nantes in France and Kavala in Greece, could be set for a move to Qatar unless Forest are also willing to match the 3m euro asking price Olympiakos had placed on him.
German club Wolfsburg and Besiktas of Turkey are also understood to be interested in the player, who does not see his contract expire until 2015.
