TWO thieves abandoned a mountain bike they were trying to steal when its owner spotted them and gave chase.
The men were trying to get in to a shed at 4am on Thursday morning in Westwood, when the owner saw them.
He gave chase as they made off with the bike, causing them to leave it nearby. Both thieves got away.
Police said two other bikes were also found left nearby which have not yet been identified and returned to their owners.
People living in the village are being asked to look in sheds and garages to check if any bikes are missing.
The two thieves are described as white men aged between 18 and 22, with slim builds.
One had fair hair and one wore a beige baseball cap.
