REPORTS in Greece suggest Nottingham Forest will discuss personal terms with Olympiakos winger Algerian winger Djamel Abdoun over the next 24 hours. While the club have also stepped up their interest in Burnley striker Charlie Austin. And reports in London suggest that QPR are close to accepting a bid for winger or forward Jamie Mackie. Discussions are understood to be taking place in Greece with 27-year-old Algerian international Abdoun, after the Reds agreed a fee in excess of 2m euros with Olympiakos. While Forest have cranked up their efforts to bolster their goal scoring power, by launching bids to sign Austin and Mackie. The Post reported earlier this week that Forest had registered a £1.5m bid for Mackie, the former Plymouth player, who Davies hoped to sign during his first spell in charge at the City Ground. And sources in London suggest the Reds could be close to agreeing a deal for the Scotland international, who is surplus to requirements at Loftus Road as Harry Redknapp looks to restructure his Rangers squad. Forest are also poised to pounce for Burnley striker Austin, following the recent collapse of is move to Hull City. The Tigers pulled out of a £4.5m deal for the Burnley's 28-goal top scorer of last season, after a medical highlighted issues with his knee. But Austin has played for 18 months without any significant injury problems and Forest are ready to test Burnley's resolve. Austin started his third consecutive friendly game for Burnley last night, as they won 2-1 at Tranmere. And Burnley boss Sean Dyche was relaxed about the player's position, saying: "From my point of view, I'm delighted (he's still at Burnley). He's a solid boy and it (missing out on his move to Hull) is not the biggest hardship, if you've come from playing for Poole Town, working on a building site. "There's plenty of good things going on for him, and the fact he's fit and well is one of them. "We're still letting the dust settle, we want to get him doing what he does best, enjoy his football and score some goals."
