WORK to renovate an Armed Forces building in Toton is set to start.
The £1 million project at Foresters House in Swiney Way, Toton, will see Royal Naval Reserve, Royal Marines Reserve and the Territorial Army co-located at one site for the first time from 2014.
The base is already home to 350 Field Squadron Royal Engineers.
Currently, both the Royal Naval and Royal Marines Reserves are based at Chalfont Drive in Chilwell.
It is thought Foresters House will provide them with much improved facilities.
Commander Martin Clegg, HMS Sherwood's commanding officer, said: "I believe that our new training areas and the excellent opportunities available to Reservists to serve with the Royal Navy at home and abroad will encourage new recruits to join us."
Captain Paul Kelly, of the 350 Squadron Royal Engineers, said: "This is great news for all our Reserves in Nottinghamshire and by bringing the three Reserve units under one roof will only strengthen our existing relationships."
