MANY fans hoped this could be the season when Forest celebrated promotion on the City Ground pitch.
It was a season that started with high hopes, after just missing out on the play-offs last time around, following the return of 'King Billy'.
Exciting new signings such as Jamie Mackie, Jack Hobbs and the return of Kelvin Wilson only increased fans expectations.
Early results suggested it could be Forest's season.
A hugely busy January transfer window also led to fans believing they could challenge for promotion.
But a horror run of 13 games without a win, led to the end of a realistic play-off push and ended the second reign of Billy Davies.
Late wins over Brum and Leeds led to hopes Forest could yet recover, but a heavy loss at Bournemouth finished those.
Forest for the second year running, did get to see wild celebrations at the final whistle, but again only at the away end of the ground.
