Hundreds of people across Nottinghamshire turned off their lights and left just one candle burning on Monday night to remember those who died in World War One.
The gesture saw lights turned off at 10pm for an hour.
It was inspired by the words of Britain's then Foreign Secretary, Sir Edward Grey, who said: "The lamps are going out all over Europe; we shall not see them lit again in our lifetime."
Here's how Nottingham marked the occasion.
