A 26-year-old man has been arrested in America by detective investigating the murder of Malakai McKenzie.
The man was detained at JFK Airport in New York on Wednesday November 28 and is now awaiting extradition to the UK.
Nottinghamshire Police have been working closely with authorities in the United States on the case.
Mr McKenzie was shot outside The Hubb public house, in Hucknall Road, Sherwood, at about 3.30am on Saturday 21 April 2012.
A Home Office post-mortem examination concluded that the 19-year-old died from a gunshot wound.
Four men have been charged with his murder – Cameron Cashin, 20, Ijah Lavelle-Moore, 20, Malcolm Vaughan Francis, 18, all from the Basford area, and Donte Grant, 18, from Bulwell.
They are next due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 22 February 2013 when a trial date will be fixed.
