The overall picture of blood sample results from patients of dentist Desmond D'Mello has been delayed.
Mr D'Mello, who worked at Daybrook Dental Practice, in Mansfield Road, was suspended after being secretly filmed flouting hygiene guidelines, including failing to change gloves between patients.
Last week, NHS England said there was a risk that Desmond D'Mello's patients, during a 32-year-career could have contracted a blood-borne virus, such as HIV or hepatitis.
The authority recalled 22,000 patients as a result, and so far more than 3,500 people have had their blood tested.
Patients have started to get their results, but NHS England's overview of the findings was delayed on Wednesday.
An NHS England spokesperson said: "We can confirm that 3623 patients have been tested at the dedicated clinic in Arnold so far as of November 25. We can't confirm at this stage how many patients have received their results, but many patients are receiving them before the standard 14 day period.
"Patients aren't experiencing delays in receiving their own personal test results; it's the high-level data giving the overall picture so far that's been delayed."
