LOCAL rap and grime star Gino Bonazzi has notched up over 850,000 YouTube views on one of his singles.
The video to 'Now That I'm Out' has accumulated the views over the past year and in total over one million people have watched his video catalogue on the social media platform.
The 22-year-old said: "It's crazy. It just shows how much love people have for me and my music. It's gave me a massive push and filled me with inspiration to carry on with music."
The performer, from Radford, will be heading over to Canning Circus from 4pm on November 27 to switch on the Christmas lights.
Gino said: "I'll performing my latest single 'Turn It Up' and sticking around until the end to make sure I get to meet everyone.
"It's important that I show my love for Nottingham. I was born and bred here and it's a great city that I'd do anything for."
Gino, who started MCing when he was 13-years-old, will be bringing festive cheer to the community in the run up to Christmas.
The entertainer will be handing out ten packs of hats, gloves, scarves and coats to the homeless people in the city centre.
He said: "Christmas is a time to spread love and bring people together. Homeless people are cold and hungry, yet people don't give them anything and walk by them without a second thought. They deserve everything that we get."
Gino's manager, Courtney Rose, has been working with him for over a year. He said: "To sum it up in a few words, I'm proud of him. It's a true rags to riches story and he's now getting the credibility he deserves."
Nyran Miller has been a fan of the star for the past five years. The 15-year-old, of Carlton, said: "I'm really proud of him. He was on the MOBO Awards earlier this year and it was great to see him on TV. I know he's going to even further."
