FAIRGROUND rides, fireworks and the cast from Disney's Frozen film were part of this year's Christmas lights switch-on in Beeston.
Families turned out in force to the annual festivities on Saturday, which were organised by Broxtowe Borough Council.
It also included festive food stalls along High Road and live music and dance performances at Broadgate Park.
Sacha Stammers, of Toton, was at the event with her husband David and children Mason, five, Alfie, three, and Louisa-May, one.
The 43-year-old said: "The set up and the entertainment was fantastic and it was nice to see the stalls extending through the town.
"The kids have had a really good time and it is a nice start to their Christmas seeing it all."
Alfie said: "I have had fun. My favourite part was the dancing peacocks and Olaf [from Frozen]. I love singing 'Let It Go'."
And it wasn't just the children who were enjoying all the Frozen characters and singing.
Johanna Richardson, 36, of Basford, said: "You can tell the event has been a really good family affair because the kids have all enjoyed it.
"I haven't even seen Frozen yet and it is making me want to watch it!"
Scout leader Phil Danaford-Knight, from the 6th Beeston Scout Group, was at the event with some of the scouts, who were serving home-made soup, cakes and tea and coffee.
He said: "This is the first time we have done this, but when we were asked by the Beeston Business Improvement District, we jumped at the chance because we are trying to raise money for a camp trip to Estonia.The scouts made all the soup themselves, and I know I am biased, but I am really proud of them."
This year, the lights were turned on by The Mayor of Broxtowe, councillor Stan Hepinstall MBE, who then joined the Frozen cast on the stage for a Christmas sing-a-long.
