SEAN O'Driscoll says it is too soon to worry about Nottingham Forest's lack of goals.

And the Reds boss told his players: "Just keep doing the right things."

Forest's tally of 11 goals in ten games is the fourth lowest in the Championship.

But O'Driscoll believes the crucial factor is that his side are creating chances – and remains convinced more goals will come as long as they continue to do so.

"As long as we keep creating chances, we won't worry," he said.

"To score a goal you've got to create a chance, to create a chance, you've got to have the ball and to do that, you have to win possession.

"There are a sequence of events that have to happen and, if you just concentrate on one of them, the danger is you lose everything else.

"The number of chances we created against Peterborough would stand us in good stead if we can create the same amount against Cardiff."

The normally prolific Billy Sharp in particular is still to net his first goal for the Reds.

But O'Driscoll said: "We have not made a big issue of anything.

"Billy's record in the Championship will tell you that he will score goals at this level.

"But he will go through peaks and troughs.

"The key is to keep the peaks going for as long as possible and to keep the troughs short.

"Dexter, Billy and Simon are all experienced enough to know that it happens. ."

One man who is finding the back of the net regularly is striker David McGoldrick, who has netted six times during his loan spell with Coventry.

"The fact that he is scoring goals will boost his confidence and that is an ongoing thing," said O'Driscoll.

"When you score more, you get more confidence and then things spiral

"League One is not the greatest division from what I have seen this season.

"But you still have to score the goals.

"If he can get into a routine of scoring goals then he can be an asset. The idea was for him to go and get some games, then we would review the situation."
