Notts five in England Champions Trophy squad

FIVE Nottinghamshire players have been included in the 30-man provisional England squad for this summer's ICC Champions Trophy.

Stuart Broad, Alex Hales, Samit Patel, Graeme Swann and James Taylor are the quintet of Outlaws to be selected for the England-hosted tournament, which begins on June 6.

Twenty20 captain Broad and Swann have been regulars for England in the 50-over format for several years, while Patel broke back into the side over the winter to feature against India and New Zealand.

Taylor has a single international cap to his name, a 2011 appearance against Ireland, but Hales has yet to represent England in one-day cricket despite shining in the T20 format.

Uncapped quartet Varun Chopra, Gary Balance, Chris Wright and James Harris are also included in the initial party, which will be cut to 15 on May 5.
