A NEW relief road in Hucknall could move a step closer this morning with councillors deciding on the fate of the land.
The Finance and Property Committee at
Notts County Council meet at 10.30am this morning.
If the land on Baker Street is transferred, work on the new relief road could begin as early as September.
A relief road would divert traffic away from High Street, which would then be pedestrianised.
The land is currently owned by Notts county Council, but, after the meeting, could end up in the hands of Ashfield District Council.
Plans were submitted for a £12 million development of Hucknall town centre last month.
